香港與日本的電影製片機構，很久以來，就醞釀着合作攝製影片，作為文化、人材、技術，及市場的交流。早在去年八月中旬，香港邵氏兄弟公司與日本規模最大的電影製片機構東映公司的首腦人物已曾洽商進行合作拍片事宜，當時，邵氏機構總裁邵逸夫正在日本旅遊，在勾留東京時，曾與東映公司首腦大川博研討未來的合作計劃。經過數度的融洽懇談，結果非常圓滿，對彼此的長期合作獲致了協議，同意先拍兩部影片，作為這個合作計劃的試驗。於去年九月間，雙方即會同展開籌備工作。
最近，這個合作拍片計劃，已正式宣告實施，第一部影片定名為「香港旅情」，是一部文藝愛情大喜劇，故事由日本著名小說家大林清的暢銷小說「紫色的滑走」改編，全部使用新藝綜合影弧形大銀幕伊士曼七彩攝製，由東映的首席導演渡邊邦男任導演。片中的男女主角，共有四位，分由邵氏明星樂蒂、陳厚，及東映明星三田佳子、高倉健擔任，此外，男女演員，技術人員，亦將分由邵氏、東映雙方派出，可說真正做到分工合作，和中日明星及藝術、技術的交流。
這部七彩大銀幕的偉大影片，將於五月中旬開拍，邵氏方面的兩位主角樂蒂、陳厚，屆時將聯袂同飛日本，會同片中的另一日籍女主角三田佳子及另一日籍男主角高倉健在日本拍攝部份內外景，然後，一同飛香港，拍攝香港部份的內外景，再赴星嘉坡、馬來亞等地，拍攝外景，預計在本年秋季以前，全片的攝製工作，即可大功告成。本片的編劇人大林清，去月初曾一度到香港，與邵氏當局商討有關本片開拍事宜，並踏勘外景，做好準備工作。
「香港旅情」的故事，是描述兩對中日男女青年的堅貞不渝的愛情喜劇，同時也強調了中日兩國人民在事業上合作的重要性。喜劇聖手陳厚，和日籍小生高倉健分飾一對同窗共硯的好朋友，畢業之後，同在航空公司任職。古典美人樂蒂，扮演一位香港豪富的千金小姐，在一個社交場合中，結識了高倉健，彼此的感情發展得很快，到了難捨難分的地步，便提出了婚嫁之議，不料，好事多磨，他倆的愛情，遭遇到頭腦守舊的親友們反對與阻撓，但這一對異國情鴛，卻以堅貞不渝的愛念，排除了一切人為的障礙，終於達到他們的目的——結婚。
陳厚在片中，也並不寂寞，由日籍艷星三田佳子飾演的服裝設計家，和他一見鍾情，愛結成雙，喜劇收場。
全片格調輕鬆清朗，是一部闡揚愛情偉大沒有種族和國籍限制的大喜劇。
樂蒂和陳厚，演技精純，是今日中國影壇大紅大紫的第一流紅星，為東南亞影迷的偶像。而三田佳子和高倉健，一個是蜚聲國際藝壇的艷星，一個是日本影壇的著名小生，也是日本青年男女的青春偶像。由這兩對中日明星來主演這部七彩的「香港旅情」，將來片成公映，轟動遐邇，殆可預見。
月前，樂蒂和陳厚旅遊東京時，東映公司曾替他倆安排一個盛大的記者招待會，正式宣佈邵氏與東映公司合作拍攝這部彩色片「香港旅情」。在這次記者招待會中，東映公司首腦大川博，該片導演渡邊邦男，及和他倆攜手主演的東映紅星三田佳子、高倉健均陪同出席，介紹這兩位來自香港的一流明星和日本各報章雜誌記者見面，翌日各報均以巨幅報導，對樂蒂和陳厚，備致譽揚。

In 1961 at the Film Festival held in Manila, Shaw Brothers' "Les Belles" and "The Deformed" won a total of seven major awards.
舉世矚目一年一度的第九屆亞洲電影節，於五月十二日至十六日在韓國首都漢城隆重舉行，來自亞洲各國及各地區的電影藝術工作者包括製片人、導演、編劇、男女明星等，雲集一堂，共商同討提高亞洲電影的藝術水準，交換促進亞洲電影的發展計劃，並在友善、公平的氣氛下，將亞洲各國及各地區在過去一年間出品的電影代表作，予以觀摩評選，成績優異的，頒給榮譽金獎，藉示鼓勵之意。
「亞洲電影節」創始於一九五四年，創辦者稱為「東南亞製片人協會」，但當一九五六第三屆在香港舉行時，各參展代表認為這個負有促進亞洲區電影藝術和文化交流的崇高意義底電影節局限於東南亞似嫌狹小，建議擴大組織，於是集議通過，將「東南亞製片人協會」的名稱改為「亞洲製片人協會」，而「東南亞電影節」的名稱也改為「亞洲電影節」，並由第四屆起實行，以迄於今。
亞洲電影節創始迄今，雖然歷史尚短，但在大會揭櫫「促進亞洲電影工業權益，提高影片藝術標準，及增進各國間的友誼」的崇高目標下，彼此努力以赴，故每屆成績，均有顯著的進步。年來亞洲各國及各地區出產的影片，無論在技術上、在藝術上，逐漸追上歐美第一流出品水準，不但獲得區內觀眾的普遍歡迎，而且備受世界影壇的推重。推源究始，每年一度的亞洲電影節促進鼓勵之功實偉。
此際第九屆亞洲電影節正在漢城隆重舉行，香港、中華民國、日本、泰國、菲律賓、星嘉坡、馬來亞、韓國等國家及地區的數百位電影事業鉅子正歡聚一堂，貢獻他們對此區電影事業的發展計劃。相信此一盛會，在友好合作的氣氛下，將必獲致更圓滿的結果，使整個亞洲的電影事業，更邁進一大步，殆可預祝！
關於參加本屆亞洲電影節的香港代表團，名單為：

香港代表團一行，已於五月十一日大會揭幕前夕，飛抵漢城，而香港邵氏公司和電懋公司並已提名三部故事長片，參加大會的評選。這三部影片是：
「不了情」 ：林黛、關山主演。（邵氏出品）
「姊妹情仇」 ：陶秦導演。（邵氏出品）
「星星、月亮、太陽」 ：尤敏、葛蘭、葉楓、羅臻導演。（電懋出品）
此外，香港方面並接受大會的邀請，另選出三部鉅片，在會中作觀摩性的榮譽獻映。這三部鉅片是：
「江山美人」 ：林黛、趙雷主演。（邵氏出品彩色片）
「倩女幽魂」 ：樂蒂、趙雷主演。（邵氏出品彩色片）
「愛的教育」 ：李翰祥導演。（電懋出品）

The Ninth Asian Film Festival
The Ninth Asian Film Festival will be held from May 12 to May 16 at Seoul.
Over three hundred delegates from eight participating Asian nations and a large number of observers from non-member nations are expected to be in Seoul for the five-day festival.
Nations and territories sending films to the Film Festival this year include Hongkong, the Republic of China, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, Malaya and Korea the host country.
The Hongkong delegation this year will be headed by Mr. Run Run Shaw. The Hon. Treasurer will be Mr. Robert Chung and the Hon. Secretary will be Mr. Raymond Chow.
Other members of the Hongkong delegation will include Ting Hung, Yu Min, Margaret Tu Chuan, Li Hsiang-chun, Chang Yang and Yeh Feng.
The Hongk ng delegation is scheduled to proceed to Korea in early May.
Three films will be entered by Hongkong in the Ninth Asian Film Festival. Two of them are black and white productions while a third, which is in two parts, is an Eastmancolor production.
The Hongkong entries include:
"Love Without End", a black and white production in Shawscope is directed by Doe Ching and stars Kwan Shan opposite Lin Dai. It tells a touching story of the love of a night-club singer who is doomed to an early death for a young business executive.
"Her Sister's Keeper", another black and white production in Shawscope from Shaw Brothers. This film is directed by Lo Chen and stars Kwan Shan opposite Grace Ting Ning and Margaret Tu Chuan. It is a story of self-sacrificing love. Elder sister Ting Ning sacrifices her own happiness so that her younger sister can have a better chance in life.
"Sun, Moon and Star", which is an Eastmancolor production from Motion Picture and General Investment Co., Ltd. This movie is in two parts and is directed by Evan Yang. In the starring roles are Lucilla Yu Min, Grace Chang, Julie Yeh Feng and Chang Yang. It is a love story set in the days of the Sino-Japanese war.
Apart from these Hongkong is sending three guest entries to be screened during the festival. They are Shaw Brothers' "The Kingdom and The Beauty" and "The Enchanting Shadow" both Eastmancolor costume productions directed by Li Han-hsiang, and MP & GI's "Education of Love" which is directed by Robert Chung and stars Jeanette Lin Tsui and Lui Chen.
