Features Star-Studded Cast
No efforts and cost had been spared in the Shaw production "The Adventure of the Thirteenth Sister", which is nearing completion after nine months of work.
Particular attention had been paid to the selection of the cast, by Shaw Studio and director Li Han-hsiang.
Heading the cast is Shaw's classic Chinese beauty, Loh Tih who plays the dual role of the Thirteenth Sister, a sword wielding legendary woman Robin Hood and of Chang Chin-feng, a beautiful maiden.
Playing opposite her as the young scholar An is Wang Chih-po, who in real life is a writer and calligraphist.
Prominent in the picture is the late Wang Yuen-lung, who plays the role of Teng Kiu-kung, the teacher of the Thirteenth Sister. It is one of the last completed pictures of the late Mr. Wang.
Others seen in the film are Lo Wei and Fung Yi who play the two debauched monks, Yang Chih-ching, Chang Tsui-ying who plays a heartless woman who preys on young girls and many others.
邵氏公司當局及導演李翰祥，目前已告完成階段。影片的製作，十分重視和認真，對於「兒女英雄傳」一劇，或佈景的搭造，服裝的設計等等，莫不抱着一絲不苟和不惜工本的嚴肅製作態度。
首先從演員人選方面來論：獲有標準古典美人之稱的樂蒂飾演俠骨柔腸的十三妹，同時還兼飾貞靜嫻淑的張金鳳，論扮相、論氣質、論武術、論演技，均是最適當的第一人選。惟有她才能把綠林巾幗和紅粉佳麗這兩個角色，演得同樣的出色、成功。
名作家兼名書法家的王植波，飾演謹愿拘泥的安公子，原是書生本色，何況他還擁有豐富的舞台表演經驗，及深邃的平劇造詣，所以在水銀燈下舉手投足，毫不費力地把那劇中人物，演得栩栩如生。
「銀壇霸王」王元龍的老英雄鄧九公，義薄雲天，位厚照人，其實即是四爺的現身說法而已，如今這位影壇一代巨匠，雖已殞落，所幸他的音容留存銀幕，以供觀眾瞻仰憑弔，故「兒女英雄傳」不僅是一部縱橫影壇三十六年的最後遺作，亦可當作是他的一部著名性格局員羅維的黑風僧，與馮毅的虎面僧，造型既佳，武功尤精。濃眉方臉，身戴魁梧，前髮齊眉，後髮蓋頸，頭上束一條日月滲金箍，身上穿着一件元青緞排扣子滾身短襖，腰繫雙股鷹帶，足登薄底雲頭快靴，手舞純鋼龍尾禪杖，一個好似蒲東寺不抹臉的憨惠明；一個還疑是五台山沒吃醉的花和尚。大戰十三妹一場戲中，舞杖揮棒，酣戰百餘合，煞是壯觀。
以演技著稱，馳譽影壇多年的名演員楊志卿與張翠英，分飾劇中的白面狼與賽西施兩個角色：一個是打店劫舍，謀財害命的強徒，一個是助紂為虐，迫良為娼的惡婆，透過他們的精湛演技，把這兩個反派人物，演得十分出色，致使觀眾「恨」不絕口。
此外，尚有李昆的店小二，羅蘋的張母，劉仁傑與爾峯的更夫，也極盡綠葉之功。百餘名臨時演員，在大雄寶殿上敲經念佛，身穿袈裟，頌懸佛珠，在大“兒女英雄傳”影片上兩場偉大壯觀的大佈景：一是“悅來店”，大四合院子，上下客房五十餘間，二是“能仁寺”，三間正殿，中原風子，極為真實，四大金剛，十八羅漢，青燈木魚，塔影鐘聲，鉅細無遺。影片較原著，精采動人百倍，燕北閒人九泉有知，亦當爲之掀髯莞爾。

ENCHANTING SHADOW
Fresh from his triumph at the Sixth Asian Film Festival, director Li Han-hsiang had for the past few months been busy at work to turn out another Mandarin motion picture great. He plunged right into work on the movie "Enchanting Shadow" right after his return.
It is another Eastman-color production, which stars lovely Loh Tih and Chao Lei, with the former playing Nieh Hsiao-chien a lovely ghost, and the latter a straightforward and honest scholar. Margaret Tong Jo-ching of the "Empress Mother" fame in "The Kingdom and the Beauty" is seen in this movie, as a vicious and ruthless old ghost.

由「聊齋誌異」書中的聶小倩故事改編的邵氏彩色鉅片「倩女幽魂」，目前正在積極拍攝中。一皇牌鉅片，亦為金牌導演李翰祥的另一嘔心瀝血的藝術結晶。
該片演員人選，均屬影壇一時俊彥：青春艷星樂蒂飾演女鬼聶小倩，英俊小生趙雷飾演書生寧采臣，兩人雖然馳譽銀壇多年，同屬邵氏旗下，但在銀幕上攜手合作，尚屬首次，功力悉敵，旗鼓相當，合作得天衣無縫，相得益彰。性格演員楊志卿當然是動人；慷慨豪邁，肝膽照人，演來淋漓盡致，本屆亞洲電影節最佳影片「江山美人」。
上曾榮獲「最佳女配角」金鑼獎的名演員唐若青，飾演攝血女鬼，猙獰冷酷，似鬼猶人，演來恰到好處，殊為難能；邵氏新進小生洛奇、李國華，客串演出，戲雖不多，甚為盡職，成績卓越，極收牡丹綠葉之助。
導演李翰祥自「貂蟬」、「江山美人」後，經驗豐富，如今在該片上三度又揮彩筆，得心應手；以彩色的幽黯，增助氣氛的陰森，確是匠心獨運；攝影師何鹿影，斷輪老手，在全體演員和工作人員通力合作之下，「倩女幽魂」又將在我國電影史上寫下輝煌一頁，當可預卜。
